I absolutely love road testing new products and learning about the latest in technology and advancements when it comes to skincare. Over the last few months I've tried & tested products from 3 different skincare brands to target various skin concerns. Each of these sits at a different price point and all offer something different, from active steam cell ingredients, to all natural elements to luxurious details...
The Low Down: This product comes as part of a 3 step system but also works amazingly well all on it's own. The key ingredient is the Vitis Vinifera fruit cell extract (Vitas Vinifera is the scientific name given to the common grape vine), better known as grape stem cells. Stem cells from grapes have been found to be particularly effective in reducing the appearance of environmental stresses on the skin and also prevents the first signs of aging.
Result: I absolutely love using this product day and night, I spritz it on my face and decolletage before removing with a cotton pad or towel prior to moisturizing and I have truly noticed a difference in my skin tone and pigmentation in just two weeks!
Smell/Packaging: The bottle grabbed me instantly - fresh, sleek and stylish, it fits perfectly on my bathroom vanity along with my other favourite products. It is easy to apply with the simple pump spritz action and smells as fresh as it appears and doesn't leave an residue.
Price Point: $64
The Low Down: 100% Australia owned and made, Shimmer, Shine & Glow blend nature and luxury together to create an organic skin care experience with a five-star touch.
The results: The application of the mask is a luxurious experience all on its own - it comes in powder form and is mixed with water and painted onto the face with a brush. This process creates a salon facial feeling but can be done at home, #winning! The clay quickly dries out and after being washed off leaves the skin calm, smooth and fresh.
The 24 Karat Gold Infused Elixir Serum delivers a power-pack of nutrients to your skin. Comprised of seven of natures finest botanical oils, this serum deeply penetrates to hydrate, calm and soften your skin. The best part, it can also be used on face, lips and neck and can also be added to your foundation for a natural, healthy finish!
Smell/Packaging: The packaging is beautiful, with the white, gold tones right on trend and the smell is quite subtle which is a nice change as some serums can be quite overpowering in scent.
Price Point: $39-$49
The Low Down: This natural skincare company create products based around fruit stem cells as an alternative to chemical ingredients. The glycolic mask is made from fruit stem cells, vitamin C, and glycolic AHA blended with manuka honey and organic pumpkin. It is rich in beta carotene and gently dissolves as it sweeps away dull, dry surface cells, exfoliating and resurfacing for even tone, smooth texture, and a luminous complexion. The serum is a concentrated mix of fruit stem cell complex, turmeric, vitamin C, and skin-friendly magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, enzymatically support dermal vitality, targeting over-exposed surface cells for a lighter, tighter, brighter looking appearance and a luminous complexion.
Results: Amazing! This product absolutely works to resurface the skin and plumps and brightens. I would suggest avoiding the mask if you have sensitive or reactive skin and just sticking to the serum or for normal-oily skin, both of these products are for you.
Smell/Packaging: these products smell deliciously natural, almost edible, and the packaging is easy to use and beautifully packaged. The sizes are travel friendly too!
Price Point: $10-$25
My skin is a constant challenge, it always has been! While my siblings are all blessed with olive skin I am quite pale, prone to freckles and pigmentation as well as dryness and irritability. More than ever, I am finding my pigmentation worsening, particularly during pregnancy, and fine lines are well and truly part of my life now I am in my thirties. All of these products are working well for me right now and have refreshed my skin with a sense of newness and care.
I love exploring the new skincare and options out there and all of these products get my tick of approval, each for different things, which makes sense - our environment, stresses, sleep patterns, diet, travel and lifestyle all affect our skin so we need a range of products to target different concerns.
