What better way to liven up pastel blue than with an unexpected pop of colour. For part 2 of my Moody Blues series I styled the Shire Dress by St Frock with some bright pumps, a cross body bag and leather jacket to make it Autumn appropriate.

Contrast Soft & Bright
Pastels don't have to be sugar sweet, for those less feminine, it is possible to work some edge into this style. I love this Shire Dress because it is soft, drops beautifully from the waist and has the zip detailing giving it a little point of difference. You can instantly liven up a pastel with a bright pop of colour. Powder blue and punchy red might seem like a strange pairing but it just works and these Billini satin pumps are just the right amount of fun. This style of heel is universally flattering and elevates a summer dress, making it relevant for the cooler months.

In the Bag
A small cross body bag under a leather jacket is an instant outfit maker. It says "going somewhere, don't have time to worry about carrying anything" aka effortless. Replace this version with a YSL, well, even better.

The Jacket
As in Part 1 of this series, I am styling the leather jacket in again to toughen up the summer vibe. I mentioned proportion because there is nothing more challenging when styling a dress than finding the right length and shape jacket to avoid looking frumpy and confused. A slightly cropped, fitted jacket is always the answer when it comes to dresses that sit below the knee.

Have Fun
Isn't that always the point right? This outfit has me feeling a little like I am walking onto a Parisian Street and that is something I definitely envisage myself doing at least once a day...that is normal, right?
