One of the most important and underrated elements of styling is texture - focusing on the fabric, feel, fibers, depth, and dimension make all the difference. Playing with texture adds interest and life to any outfit.
The first thing I look at when shopping is the texture of a garment, whether that be lace, sheen, leather, cable knit, faux fur, embroidery or linen, it is a vital component in taking something ordinary and making it amazing. Take one look through an editorial spread and you will notice the attention to texture it what makes it stand out. Browse Pinterest for street style and usually the photos which are truly "wow" are layered with varying textures.
When Shein contacted me, I jumped at the chance to select one of their pieces to style. This textured jacket stood out immediately, it has an Isabel Marant vibe to it and a slightly beachy, boho feel balanced out by the classic cut. I love the print, the textured detail on the sleeves and the relaxed, easy cut. You can shop this piece here.

This jacket immediately makes me think of crisp whites, blue denims, beige details and relaxing over a drink while on holiday. I styled it with a soft grey knit, distressed denim, a black clutch and sock boots. I kept the jewellery to a minimum. The texture and print of the jacket means I kept the rest of the outfit clean, effortless and laid back and didn't add any competing details. The lose fit needs some tighter elements to balance it out so I opted for super skinny denim and knotted the knit to bring some shape in through the waist.
This jacket will be perfect going into Spring/Summer, I can picture it with denim cut off's and a simple white cami. Definitely going to have this on high rotation as the weather warms up.
