It's the perfect time to start living as though Summer is just around the corner; get outside, get away, get some sun and start feeling alive again. I live for Weekend road trips, it's a rare Saturday my little family doesn't pack up and get away but over Winter this inevitably slows down. I have been desperately missing the ocean and that unique feeling of freedom only found on the highway, so decided at the last minute to head down to my families coast house for two days of sunshine and relaxation.
Beach Weekend Essentials
I've been looking forward to taking my Lil & Emm one piece for a spin after the cold months of Winter. The beautiful Sheree and Emma gifted me this stunning piece following my Style Workshop in which Emma spoke all about the Lil & Emm journey. These girls are taking the fashion world by storm, recently showing at New York Fashion Week. Take a look at their incredible label here.
My road tripping essentials revolve around absolute comfort which means sneakers, relaxed denim and light breezy cotton. I am loving my reflective aviators again and also still rotating my Celine's when I want something darker. I love this felt trilby hat because the nude colour goes with everything and my sterling silver rings are perfect for the beach.

Home Away From Home
I arrived to a perfect, clear, nothing-but-blue skies Spring afternoon. This house had been in my family for years, most of my childhood memories involve body boarding down the stairs, waking up to oceans views and the absolute contentment of a good dinner after a day in the surf. It is so special to me to be able to bring my son here and give him the same experiences that made up so much of my childhood.

I spent Sunday exploring rock pools with my son, laying on the beach and eating way too much lunch. Total bliss. My sister recently gave me a gorgeous navy blue cotton dress from Assembly Label and I am loving their calico carry bags, perfect for the beach. This cotton shirt is super versatile, worn undone, tied up over a singlet or buttoned up on it's own. It is light, flowy and just long enough to wear over my swimmers. Spring is a good time to invest in quality, natural fabrics as the days warm up it is so important to steer clear of polyester and uncomfortable materials.

After lunch it started raining, proving that while Winter may be officially over it never says goodbye without a few frosty encores. Suddenly we were back home, rugged up in hoodies and ugh boots, ordering Thai and counting down the days until next time....x
